Bonnaroo 2013: Lineup and Live Stream

In more Music Festival Season 2013 news, it’s time again for Bonnaroo! If you are unable to get out to Tennessee this weekend, no worries. The Festival has teamed up with Ustream to broadcast selected sets throughout the weekend. Be sure to stream live sets from Paul McCartney, Wu Tang Clan, The National, Grizzly Bear, Kendrick Lamar, Wilco, The xx, Beach House, Japandroids, Mumford and Sons, Tame Impala and many more! Talib Kweli: Prisoner of Consciousness

Whatagwan Wurld,

Talib Kweli (Black Star/Reflection Eternal) drops his latest solo joing Prisoner of Consciousness today (May 7th). Critically acclaimed as one of the best MCs to ever spit on the mic, Kweli delivers another classic album full of his signature “Conscious Rap“. The Brooklyn Bomber features some great collaborations on this one (Kendrick Lamar, Curren$y, Busta Rhymes, Miquel, Nelly, etc). We are surprised that his main partner Yasiin Bey (aka MOS DEF) doesn’t make an appearance on the album, but Talib is well known to hold his own as the uber-prolific half of the duo Black Star. Check out the RZA produced “Rocket Ships” and the both coast strong “Push Thru“ below. Daft Punk: Random Access Memories News

The infamous French Duo Daft Punk‘s highly anticipated Random Access Memories is only a month away! There’s so much hype around it’s release, which includes the new single “Get Lucky“. Guest collaborators include Animal Collective’s Panda Bear, Giorgio Moroder, Pharrell, Paul Williams, Nile Rodgers, DJ Falcon, Chilly Gonzales and Todd Edwards. Although there hasn’t been an official video release for the first single (featuring Pharrell and Nile Rodgers), a radical fan video is currently receiving high appraisal. The video interpretation comprises of some dope footage from DP‘s 2006 film “Electroma“, current Promo Shots, and an obscure 2004 short film called “Ecology of Love“.

Thomas Bangalter and Guy De Homem-Christo‘s new single broke Spotify’s “U.S. One Day Streaming” Record previously held by Macklemore’s Thrift Shop. After an 8-year hiatus between full length studio albums (not counting 2010′s Tron soundtrack) we are fairly certain Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories will be the biggest album of 2013 worldwide. Check out the fan video, the collaborator interviews, the single advertisement and tracklist below. Coachella 2013: Stone Roses vs. Blur

Happy Friday Earthlings,

So, in the battle of the British headliner bands, it looks like Blur Won this time! The Stone Roses (whom our head honcho D-How says were the pioneers of the Madchester psychedelic BritPop scene/sound) were the top bill and most highly anticipated. Well according to the showdown at Coachella‘s first weekend, Blur simply put on a better performance entirely. While Mr. John Squier (guitarist for Stone Roses) and the band absolutely killed it, Ian Brown‘s voice was subpar. Plus, the crowd didn’t seem to into it…perhaps they weren’t sure what they were witnessing. However, Blur‘s performance showcased an arsenal of hits that made loads of young hipsters finally recognize that “WooHoo (Song 2)“ is just an American rubbish single compared to their well composed and performed string of hits. Damon Albarn‘s stage presence and vocals mesmorized the crowd (no Gorillaz songs necessary, staying in true form). We guess Coachella felt the same way and made Blur the Headliners this weekend. Anyhow, judge their sets below and let us know what you think!
