Passion Pit: I’ll Be Alright

Sisters n Bredren,

The wait is over! Beantown’s Passion Pit is gearing up for their July 24th release of sophomore album Gossamer!  Peep the new second single “I’ll Be Alright“.  The glitchy samples and mini breakbeat chops explode into a bright melodic soundscape for which the band is best known.  Besides their signature song chorus structure, you can tell they are growing while feeding off contemporary groups who push the envelope in their genre.  As usual, Michael Angelakos brings the lyrical pain contrasted in that “arms-wide-open” falsetto which undeniably sets the group apart from their peers.  As a bonus, the first single “Take A Walk” is included below as well.  We can’t wait to hear the full album, it’s gonna be a in heavy hipster rotation this summer.

Spiritualized: Hey Jane

Whatitdo Wurld,

Here’s a new single and video by the legendary British Space Rock group Spiritualized called “Hey Jane“.   Not only is the song epic in length, but the video is a truly disturbing short film directed by AG Rojas.  Clocking in around 9 minutes in length, hide your kids and peep it on some downtime.  Their new album Sweet Heart, Sweet Light hits cyberstores in April.  Our fellow LA hipsters can peep them at The Wiltern on May 22nd.  You can catch them on tour in your area here.  Oh, let us know what you think about this mini-flick, if you can stomach it.  If you prefer to see the song live instead, we’ve included their recent performance at UK’s Maida Vale for BBC6.
