Spindrift: “Ghost Patrol” video

Whatitdo Wurld,

Spindrift is celebrating the release of their new album Classic Soundtracks, Vol. 1 at Echoplex tomorrow (09/08/11).  They’ve invented and cornered the market of Psychelic Spaghetti-Western Space Rock over the last decade.  We’re not just saying that because we are personal friends/associates of the band (SwitchFlip head honcho D-How grew up and rocked many shows alongside an early incarnation of Kirkpatrick Thomas’ group).  Peep the cinematic soundscape in their new video, the theme of “Ghost Patrol“, directed by Jean Balest & Sam Barnett.  They’re using Stop Motion filming in this, which gives it the eerie and edgy vibe evoked by Spindrift’s psycho space jam.  Check’em out for the CD release party at The Echoplex in LA tomorrow, and the national tour following.   SwitchFlip Certified fo sho!

Red Hot Chili Peppers: Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie video shoot in Venice CA

Happy Friday Earthlings,

This is why I love where I live….you never know what’s gonna happen on any given weekend in Venice Beach.  The “Chili Peppers“ invaded our backyards 2 weekends ago, and shot this video on the rooftop of Venice Paparazzi!  Their 4-year hiatus was well worth the wait for us locals.  Total Guerilla Marketing style..a rooftop bumrush ala U2. SwitchFlip Certified. Their new album “I’m With You” drops at the end of the month.  Anyhow, we’ll let Edizen tell the story….check it out!

Raekwon: Rich & Black (f/ Nas)

Wuss Da Science Wurld,

Raekwon’s “Rich & Black” video featuring Nas is surely a summer banger.  Nas has been on fire lately, as we anticipate his new album coming out later this year.  Glad to see real hip hop still at the forefront of the game…it’s too easy to decipher the “Pop” from the “True School“.

Oh Land – Sun Of A Gun

Happy Friday Earthlings,

Shout out to our homegirl Dr. Lesley Taylor for turning us on to Danish singer  Oh Land.  Her debut U.S. release is crushing it, and her videos are very artistic.  She’s a true SXSW success story.  She performed in 2009, got signed from that performance, and then came back this year to rock it again for fan apperciation. Watch out for her this summer!
