Oh Land: White Nights

Whatup Wurld,

Nanna Øland Fabricius, aka Oh Land, is a very unique talent for sure.  Her musical background has been genetically engineered by her parents (mother sang opera and father was a classical composer).  Fabricus  even studied with the Royal Swedish Ballet as a teenager, until a spine injury sidelined her dance career. Her eclectic version of dance pop is riddled w/ clever workings of a trained musician.  She exploded on the U.S. scene in spring 2011, and has been consistently putting out clever videos to accompany her beauty & tunes.  Check out the video for White Nights, and if you haven’t copped her self titled debut, get it here.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day: 2012

Happy MLK Jr. Day!

Happy Birthday to one of the Greatest American Heroes of All Time.  His words, work, and forward thought process is still unmatched amongst our leadership.  We can only wish that someday another will emerge like this…our country’s future would illuminate brighter than we could ever imagine.  In honor of the late great DrMartin Luther King Jr., I’m “…reaching down into the inner sources of my own soul, and signing w/ a pen and ink of self assertive manhood my own emancipation proclamation…”

Franchesca Leigh: Shit White Girls Say…to Black Girls

Happy Friday Earthlings,

I’m sure you are all aware of the various internet memes playing off of the “shit people say..” and “shit people don’t say”, etc. Well check this out. This shit is funny, no matter what people say. It’s not actually being racist, it’s a parody of the “Shit Girls Say” episode skits.  Those who know SwitchFlip personally will understand that this is all in good humor, as we are the last people on earth to support racisim.  Take a peep, get a laugh, and lend us your thoughts.  Have a great weekend!

Lana Del Rey – Born To Die

Lana Del Rey is the Shiznit! Her first 2 videos ( “Video Games” and “Blue Jeans”) destroyed it online and across indie waves the past few months.  Is all this hype w/o a debut album, you may ask?  Yes, but her style and vocals (deemed Hollywod Sadcore) are unique and impeccible. We predict a smash album for sure! Here’s the brand new “video” for the title track of her upcoming album Born to Die.  Scoop up a copy of this single on January 23rd, a week before the scheduled album release!
